This piece was inspired by reports of African, South Asian, and Middle Eastern students and residents facing discrimination while fleeing Ukraine. These individuals were pushed to the back of lines, denied entry onto trains, and faced longer wait times at borders compared to their white counterparts.
This artwork seeks to spark conversations about systemic racism in humanitarian responses and the need for more inclusive policies. It's a reminder that true peace and justice can only be achieved when all lives are valued equally, regardless of ethnicity or nationality.
